This project was in conjunction with Klahoose, DFO, MOT, Pacific Salmon Foundation, to support salmon stream rehabilitation.
Basel Creek is a salmon spawning creek that flows year round. An old culvert under the road was providing significant challenges to spawning salmon trying to move upstream. We replaced the old round culvert with a habitat friendly arch design and a series of natural shady pools and spawning areas.
We provided excavating and trucking for the project and worked alongside many supporting team members with different areas of expertise.
Working in an active watershed requires a careful touch with the excavators and very experienced operators.
